Passion and performance.

Passion and performance are two of the ingredients that ensure the success of the Benninghoven TBA 240u asphalt plant, which PORR Romania owns in Buftea.

It has a maximum production capacity of 240 t/h between July 2019 and December 2021, with more than 300,000 tonnes of asphalt mixes being processed here.

The plant produces all types of black asphalt (Ma 8, Ba8, Ba16, Bap16, AB 31.5,Bad 22.4, Mas 16, Mas 8 and Mas 11.2 ) and coloured asphalt (red ,green etc) with the help of quarry/ballast aggregates, Bitumen 50/70, PMB (Modified Bitumen) and limestone filer.

The process is fast and efficient, and the order is processed within 24 hours of order and payment. The asphalt is delivered in optimal conditions over distances of up to 200 kilometres. Temperature additives are used for long-distance transport, workability for longer periods of time and for temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.

PORR Romania has used the asphalt produced in Buftea in its representative works in the North Bucharest area (A2 Motorway, rehabilitation of DJ101 and DJ711, lot 3 and lot 4, rehabilitation of the Otopeni runway or DN5).

Laboratory for construction analyses and tests.

One of the PORR Romania laboratories is also located within the asphalt station (ISC Authorisation no.3524/2019; AFER Authorisation AL series no.610/2019-R1)

Main laboratory activities.

  • Carrying out geotechnical investigations through specific laboratory and field tests for the technical analysis of the quality of the materials put in place, carrying out static and dynamic checks on the embankments;
  • Assimilation and implementation of European methods for analysing materials;
  • Carrying out tests on materials used in road works;
  • Studies and tests for the implementation of new materials and performing road technologies;
  • Research for the assimilation and implementation of modern methods of materials analysis and design of asphalt mixtures used in the execution of road surfacing.

The laboratory is also authorised for the following profiles:

ANCFD: Natural aggregates for railway and road works;

AR: Concrete steel reinforcement, wire or welded wire mesh;

BBABP: Concrete, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete;

D: Roads;

GTF: Geotechnics and foundation soil;

EP: Paving elements (pavers, slabs, kerbs);

HITIF: Waterproofing, thermal insulation, sound insulation (polystyrene, mineral wool, polyurethane, ETICS, waterproofing materials);

MBM: Materials for concrete and mortar (aggregates, cement, water for preparing concrete and mortar);

MD: Road materials;

MTZ: Mortars for plastering and masonry (mortars, screeds, adhesives for ceramic tiles, plaster and plaster-based plasters, joint mortars for tiles).
