Aleșd Asphalt Plant

High standards.

The AMMANN ABA ABA UniBatch 210 asphalt plant, located in Aleșd, Bihor county, went into production in March 2024.

Its maximum production capacity is 210 t/h, and it is estimated that 70,000 tonnes of asphalt mixtures will be produced here by the end of the first year of operation.

The plant produces, with the help of quarry/quarry aggregates, Bitumen 50/70, PMB (Modified Bitumen) and limestone filer, different types of asphalt mixes, namely: MA 8, BA 8, BA 16, BAP16, BAR 16, AB 31.5, BAD 22.4, MAS 16, as well as coloured asphalt (red, green, etc).

The ordering process is fast and efficient, and orders are processed within 24 hours of submission and payment. Asphalt is delivered in optimal conditions over distances of up to 100 kilometres, the service area covering Cluj, Satu Mare and Sălaj counties.

PORR Romania has used the asphalt produced in Aleșd in representative projects for Bihor County, such as the rehabilitation of the DJ 767E Orșorhei-Copăcel (12.7 km) and the construction of the Oșorhei, Sântandrei and Nojorid ring roads.

Construction analyses and testing laboratory.

One of PORR Romania's laboratories (ISC Authorisation no. 3796/2022), which serves the asphalt plant in Aleșd, is divided into 17 profiles comprising 187 tests.

Main laboratory activities:

• Carrying out geotechnical investigations through specific laboratory and field tests for the technical analysis of the quality of the materials put in place, carrying out static and dynamic checks on the earthworks;
• Assimilation and implementation of European methods for analysing materials;
• Carrying out tests on materials used in road works;
• Studies and tests for the implementation of new materials and performing road technologies;
• Research for the assimilation and implementation of modern methods of materials analysis and design of asphalt mixtures used in the execution of road surfacing.
